Mariam Naoum is an acclaimed Egyptian screenwriter and the founder of Sard, which was established in 2015 as a pioneering hub for writers and creatives across the Arab world. With a career spanning over two decades, Naoum has written and co-written several critically acclaimed films and television series, including the award-winning feature One-Zero (2009), which marked a turning point in her career.
Her portfolio includes a wide range of successful television dramas and collaborative writers’ rooms that have shaped the contemporary Arab content landscape. Recognized for her dedication to authentic storytelling, Naoum has consistently highlighted social issues, human experiences, and diverse voices in her work.
Through Sard, she has extended her vision beyond screenwriting to include training, mentorship, script doctoring, and film production, creating a platform that protects writers’ rights and nurtures new generations of talent. Today, Naoum continues to lead Sard with a mission to support authentic Arabic storytelling and expand opportunities for creatives across the region.
